About the game
A party RPG where your TV is the game board and everyone's phone is the controller. Fight monsters, talk your way past strange characters, and roll for glory together.
Lantern Crawl brings the feeling of a tabletop campaign to a living room in about 30 minutes. One person opens the game on a TV and friends join by scanning a code. Each player picks a hero on their phone. A narrator voice reads the story while the TV shows a pixel-art dungeon map, and every phone shows that player's cards, choices and dice.
Party mode is quick and silly: talk scenes where anything you type can happen, fights played with cards, bosses with big entrances, drawings that become companions. Hardcore mode uses fifth edition tabletop rules, with real classes, spells, tactics and permanent death. It can be played with a TV or on phones only.
What makes it different
- No app and no accounts needed to play. Scan, pick a hero, go.
- Every quest is shuffled, with characters to talk to and forks in the road.
- A narrator reads the story out loud, with an optional AI storyteller that runs in the browser.
- Animated pixel-art maps, monsters and heroes.
- Players make and share their own quests with a quest maker.
- A collection book on every phone: monsters met, treasure found and achievements.
- Seasonal events, a weekly boss that every table fights together, and a Hall of Fame.
